"The New Normal"

Things have clearly changed.          I know that.       It's just harder than I thought it would be.

I love Ruby Kate so much that I don't have words to describe it, but I'm not used to having a baby sister. I know....Sadie has been my little sister for the past 2 and a half years. The difference is that now I am used to things. When you are little, you can adapt well to everything. I seem to not be able to deal with little things.

There have been a few new things that I did this year like going Christmas caroling at the nursing home, and going to a 4-H Christmas party. Sometimes I guess you have to replace the old traditions with the new ones. I've just got to get used to "The New Normal".

NEW BABY

On December 3rd, 7:05 p.m. Ruby Katherine Lord was born.

It had been a pretty exhausting day. I have found that standing still can be the most tiring. We got there around 10:10 a.m. We all went to visit mama, and get settled in at the waiting room. After chilling in the waiting room for a while, we decided to go ahead and eat lunch. We went to Wendy's, and we picked up daddy something to eat. When we got back, we quickly found a parking spot. A lady driving a golf cart offered us a ride to the building where mom was staying. She kept on laughing at us. We might have been pretty excited. When we got to the building, Tim and I took the stairs and the rest of them took the elevator. When Sadie was being born at this place I was nine years old. I had brought a big green bouncy ball, and I would bounce it on the staircase. The waiting room at the time was awful, but when we got there, there was a nice, new waiting room near the old. When I was bored I watched a show on my ipad, or I took a ride on the elevator. We were on the second floor. There were three floors. What I would do is go to the top, bottom, and then back to the middle. Later Aunt Laura stopped by to see mama. Things were going slow. I was so bored that I watched a cheesy

documentary. Things got turnt when Aunt Lori, Sara, Jarrett, and Gracie stopped by. We all made predictions about when the baby would be born, and how much she would weigh. I guessed 8 1/2 lb. Ruby Kate was really 8 pounds 10.9 ounces. I was close. Well, shortly things started to pick up the pace. Aunt Laura had gone shopping, and she came to the hospital with chicken sandwiches and waffle fries!! Thank goodness because we were so hungry. Dad called and said that she was born!!!!!!!! First Grandma went to see her, and later Tim, Ericka, Sadie, and I got to see her. We didn't get to hold her or anything though. The next morning we went up there and got to hold her!!!
Grandma had spent the night up there and daddy stayed at the house with us. Grandma brought Sadie to Wendy's, and they got some balloons. Daddy took the rest of us to Pizza Hut. Poor Benny had to be somewhere, so he didn't get to meet Ruby Kate until later that day. After that Grandma brought us to Aunt Beth's house to spend the night. The next day was Saturday. We visited mama again for a little while. Mama had to stay in the hospital for a longer time because she ran a little bit of a fever. She was probably just running a fever because she was tired, but they still kept her. The next day we went to church with Grandma, and when they finally did get released from the hospital they dropped by the church and picked up all of the girls. When we got home we got to hold her for a while. Grandma and the boys got home a little later. It felt so good to have all of the family back at home. It feels like things will never slow down. Maybe it will someday, but for now we will just have to get used to this fast pace.

Consumer Judging 2015

On Monday, our county participated in Consumer Judging. We didn't do to bad. Our Senior team got 2nd place and are headed to state. Our Junior team got first place, but Juniors don't go to state. It was a lot more fun this year because our cousins from Irwin all went. I tried to really step up my cotton commercial game because I keep on getting 3rd place on it. They announced that there were ten winners for cotton boll speech. As wrong and arrogant as this may seem,  I thought that I was one of the ten. I told myself that my only hope was with my cotton boll speech because I thought I had flunked everything else. After the tenth person was announced, I was about to leave because I was about to cry. I had worked to hard. What more could I do? All of a sudden, they announced "High individual goes to.....Caroline Lord." I was in shock. I walked up there, got my picture made, and sat with Ben. I didn't think that they had called out the right name. Sara, my cousin, only needed a half of a point more to tie with me in first place. Ugh... I wish that we could have tied.

DIY Last Minute Halloween Costumes

Okay guys, some of these costumes were fails, but I'm still going to post them so you can maybe get some ideas for a costume. These are for the procrastinators.

1. Rosie the Riveter

All you need for this costume is a red handkerchief, a denim shirt, jeans, a brown belt, and whatever shoes. In this picture I looked so weird......lol.... Anyway, you also could wear red lipstick to bring
some more red into the costume.
2.Minion
All that you need for this costume is a yellow shirt, glasses(i made mine out of jar lids), suspenders, high wasted jeans, black converses (i forgot to wear them), and the banana is an option.

3. Indian Princess

For this costume, I wore a tribal print dress, ugg boots, feather earrings, and a bracelet. I also wore my hair in braids.

4. Miranda Sings
You might not know who I am, but I am a YouTube sensation called Miranda Sings. She is a person on YouTube that wears loads of makeup, a weird outfit, and sings extremely obnoxiously. She pretends that her voice is amazing. For this costume you will need red lipstick, sweat pants, and a striped button up shirt buttoned all the way up. You need to wear converses or vans.

5. Cat

For this cat costume you will need a long or short sleeved black shirt, black leggings or tights and shorts, and cat ears. Painting your face is pretty much a necessity, or you can just wear black makeup like I did. I made my cat ears with wire, black beads, and silver beads. You could just make it out of a black headband and felt.

6. Nerd

I really love this nerd costume that I put together....I was just missing one thing. Nerd glasses. Anyway, for this costume you will need crazy socks, shorts or jeans, suspenders, a school book, a bow tie, and nerd glasses. You need to put your hair up in pig tails or braids.

I hope you enjoyed!!!

National 4-H Week

This week is National 4-H Week, and I am so glad to be part of such a great organization. 4-H has really motivated me to "make the best better". When I first came into 4-H I was very shy and uncomfortable, but now I don't feel out of place walking into the 4-H office. The people that at first were strangers, are now family. I can't wait to get even more involved in 4-H now that I am a Junior. I'm planning on running for SW Junior Board next year, and going to Junior Conference this year.

Georgia vs Bama

Right now Ben, Dad, Mom, Ericka, and I are watching the Georgia, Alabama game. Right now the score is 10 to 3, Alabama in the lead. I'm not that into football, but you always want your team to win......................no........just no............why????? Alabama just scored again. I'm really angry right now, okay. Alabama just kicked the ball to Georgia, and Georgia just isn't fighting hard enough. All of this rain is really making a difference. The ball keeps on slipping out of the players' hands. Ugh......................no...............why.........noooooooooooooooo.........Alabama just scored again. I feel like it's a lost cause. This is just sad. 24 to 3. It's even worse when there are all of these obnoxiously crimson tide fans that will rub it in your face forever if Alabama wins. All of Georgia's timeouts are used up right now. This is pointless. I mean they are just running around the field fighting each other. One of my cousins is at this game, but if I was at this game I would just leave at this point. It is half time right now. Oh well. I am still mad though because the Bulldogs were undefeated, and it ain't looking good.

Half time is over. Now the score is 31 to 3. I think that I'm going to do something else right now. This is really bringing me down. I'll come back near the 4th quarter. What did I tell you? Football is pointless.

Soccer Days

Timothy is doing soccer for his 3rd year this year. In 2013 he was an Aztec, in 2014 he was on team Thunder, and now he is a Tiger. Unlike last year, this year there are all boy teams and all girl teams.

I still don't know how to do a squad snapshot
This year the Tigers have won two games and lost two games. Last night they were supposed to play a team, but the game was rescheduled because of lightning streaks. I am extremely afraid of storms. I'm glad I don't live in Oklahoma. At least I got to see my cousins!!!

DIY Hobby Box

Today I decided to show you how to make a "Hobby Box". The reason I call it that is because you can fill it with art supplies, a collection, and really anything. The materials you will need are:
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Fabric (I used two different prints)
A shoe-box (I used a baby shoe-box)
You can use a ruler if you want to.

You need to glue fabric to the top, and the box part.

If you want to you can make a bow for the top of the box. That is optional.

I hope you enjoyed!!!

Autumn..... Again

To me, as you get older things go by more quickly. I guess life is a little bit like riding a bicycle. At first you are on training wheels, and you feel like you will never pick up speed. However, after a year of practice, you are able to ride the bike faster that ever. There are hills, turns, and bumps that you have to try and deal with, and occasionally wrecks.

This year Autumn came quicker than expected. Just like learning how to ride a bicycle. Last week it got fairly cool!! I'm really glad that I had gotten some new jeans, shoes, and tops.

How to Make a Tipi Tent

So a while ago I was very bored and I decided to make a tipi tent. It turned out better than I expected it would, so I'm going to post a picture of it and some simple instructions on how to make it.

This is what the first one looks like, but I made another one today. These tents are great for doing schoolwork, relaxing, reading, and watching movies.

WARNING: When hanging out in your tipi in the evening, wear lots of mosquito spray. You can guess what will happen if you don't.

They are also very easy to make!

You will need,
Four sheets

At least seven long sticks or garden stakes

A long piece of string
Maybe some safety pins

Once you have these items you can get started. Try to pick a location with no ants or dirt.

First take three poles and tie them together like I have in the picture.

Next lean a few other poles on the frame.

After that you will need to somehow attach the sheets to the frame. What I did was tie the ends of the sheet to the top, but you might could use safety pins.

I also decided to put a floor in my tipi.

Why did I do this??????
